An effective SEO strategy cannot be complete without considering each of the 4 pillars.
Pillar 1 is Content & Keywords. It’s important to choose keywords that are relevant to your business and create on-page content that contains those keywords. Researching keyword trends and ensuring the content matches user intent are key elements to optimizing for content and keywords. Crafting content that contains your target keywords, but is also engaging and informative for readers, will help you stand out in organic search results. Keep in mind the “2% rule” of keyword utilization within your content; this means using your chosen keywords 2% of the time within the 500-750 words found on each page. Remember to include them in text headings, alt tags, and titles where applicable.
Pillar 2 is Citations. This means making sure your business information such as address, phone number, website URL, etc., is consistent across all online directories and websites where it appears. A successful SEO strategy requires at least 280-300 citations across all platforms (including social media). Having accurate and up-to-date information across the web is important to improving your visibility in search engines. Google pays attention to this consistency as a way to verify businesses so if you have any discrepancies, fix them right away!
Pillar 3 is Backlinks. This is one of the most important factors in SEO as it involves other websites linking to your own website, which can affect your ranking on search engine results pages (SERPs). Adding quality backlinks from reputable sources like industry directories and partner sites helps to boost your website’s ranking for your chosen keywords. Backlinks help improve domain authority and will boost rankings on search engines. Aim for 50-100 backlinks if possible; you can use competitor analysis as a target goal for finding quality links based on how many backlinks your competitors have and where they have them.
Pillar 4 is a Solid Google Pagespeed Score. A Google Pagespeed score of 80 or higher on desktop and mobile. Having a high page speed score is essential for providing users with an optimal experience when they visit your website. If you want to achieve good rankings in SERPs, make sure to perform regular checks of the page loading times using tools like PageSpeed Insights from Google and take action if needed.
These four pillars form the foundation for any successful SEO strategy. By creating content with keywords, building up citations, and obtaining quality backlinks, you will position yourself better to succeed in organic search engine results pages (SERPs). Good luck!
